New Alberta Angus Ambassador
My name is Cletus Sehn. I, with my wife Jennifer, my daughter Kaitlyn and my son Garrett live in Lacombe Alberta.
I have spent 30 years working in beef cattle research. Primary areas of research include genetics, fertility, efficiency, animal welfare, food safety, food quality, carcass merit and carcass competitiveness. Over the course of my career I have also supported advancements in forage research as it pertains to beef production in Western Canada. I, along with numerous colleagues, have done work with swath grazing, bale grazing and other extended grazing practices that have been adopted into mainstream beef production.
Over the course of my career I have been responsible for building a large, functional, commercial cow herd that is used to do studies in all of the areas mentioned above. Cattle and the pursuit of genetic progression and efficiencies are my passion.
I would like to thank The Alberta Angus Association for placing their faith in me, and for the opportunity to support both commercial and seedstock producers in taking Angus to the next level.
