The Canadian Angus Rancher Endorsed Program is a certification for packing plants, retail, producers, and consumers who wanted a method to genetically identify Canadian Angus beef products.
This certification combines the need for transparency around where food come from as well as a sign of the highest quality. The certification guarantees that the beef used in beef products bearing this endorsement label come from beef cattle with 50 percent or more Angus genetics.

In similar fashion to Angus Link and Top Dollar programs in the US, this is a program to CONNECT commercial calf producers with potential buyers and provide some insight into the genetic potential of their calves.
Angus Genetics Inc. (AGI)
Angus Genetics Inc. (AGI), a subsidiary of the American Angus Association. AGI develops and promotes technology for use by the beef industry, including DNA technology.
AGI developed genomic-enhanced expected progeny differences (GE-EPDs) for the Angus breed that are updated on a weekly basis. AGI also conducts research and develops new science and technology to benefit the entire beef business.
Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC)
The Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC) is Canada’s national industry-led funding agency for beef, cattle and forage research. The BCRC is funded through a portion of a producer-paid national levy as well as government and industry funding, and is directed by a committee of beef producers from across the country.
Canadian Angus Foundation
One of the important pieces of history for the Canadian Angus Association was the development of the Canadian Angus Foundation. The Canadian Angus Foundation was incorporated in 1993. The Foundation is run by a group of dedicated volunteers. The main functions of the Foundation are to preserve and expand the Angus breed for future generations through education, youth development, scientific and market research and historical preservation.
Complementing the economic strengths of Alberta, Lakeland College's programming seeks to meet the needs of learners, communities, business and industry in its service region. Programming includes agricultural and environmental sciences, apprenticeship and industry training, energy, fire and emergency services training, wellness and human services, business and university transfer. The college also designs and delivers programs to meet specific learner, community and industry needs through continuing education and corporate training.
Livestock Gentec is an Alberta Innovates Centre based at the University of Alberta. It was created in 2010 to bring the commercial benefits of genomics to the Canadian livestock industry.
Maritime Beef Test Station
The Maritime Beef Test Station has been in operation for over 45 years, providing breeders an opportunity to have bulls and heifers in a program that stresses a total performance. This approach, not only measures gain on-test, but also reports on indicators of reproduction and carcass evaluation.
The Maritime Beef Test Station is a breeder owned co-operative. A Board of Directors consists of representatives from different member breeds, Government representatives from all three Maritime provinces and a representative from each Cattlemen’s Association.

Canadian Red Angus Promotion Society (CRAPS)
The Canadian Red Angus Promotion Society was formed in September 1972 by a group of 12 like-minded Red Angus beef cattle breeders from Alberta and Saskatchewan. Together, they formed a society to specifically promote the Red color of the Angus breed. Today a membership of 275 beef breeders across Canada are represented by this national society. We work together with the Canadian Angus Association and other breed associations in Canada.

The Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB) is a collaborative multi-stakeholder community devoted to advancing sustainability in the Canadian beef industry.
