2025 Honorary President Ian Rudkin

Ian Rudkin purchased his first purebred Angus Cow in 1986; from there he has spent 40 years building a Registered Black Angus herd. Cattle are the backbone of the farming operation. Ian and his son, Tim, calve 120 cows each year. They continue to incorporate new genetics by purchasing high quality bulls and females from leading breeders across the country. AI and Embryo transfers are also key elements of their program. The goal has always been to produce breeding stock that make them proud to attach the Maple Line name.

The farm hosted the Autumn Tradition Production Sale for many years and has been the site for several farm tours including the Beef Farmers of Ontario Cow/Calf Management Tour.

Market trends have evolved over the years, but Ian’s values and vision remain the same. The future of Maple Line is in good hands as Ian mentors Tim in carrying on the family farm.

2025 Commercial Breeder of the Year

The Ottawa Valley Angus Club is proud to recognize Campbell Farms as our 2025 Commercial Breeder of the Year.

Campbell Farms is a multigenerational operation located in Renfrew, Ontario, where family values and strong stockmanship are at the heart of everything they do. Running approximately 200 head of cattle, their program reflects a thoughtful and consistent commitment to quality commercial beef production.

Their success is rooted in the strategic and effective use of Angus genetics, with an appreciation for purebred influence within their herd. That attention to breeding decisions continues to elevate both performance and consistency within their commercial program.

Beyond their own operation, the Campbell family is actively involved in the broader cattle community. Several of the boys can often be spotted in the show ring, assisting their cousin and gaining valuable experience.
As the hosting club for the Ontario Angus Association, this recognition also names Campbell Farms as the Ontario Angus Association Commercial Breeder of the Year — an achievement that highlights not only their local impact, but their broader provincial recognition.

The Ottawa Valley Angus Club is proud to celebrate Campbell Farms for their dedication, commitment, and ongoing contribution to Angus genetics in our region.

Show Female and Purebred Breeder of the Year

Kyle and Rachel Petherick along with their children Jordyn and Mason as well as Kyle’s Dad Glenn own and operate Worth-Mor Cattle.  A purebred Angus operation dedicated to producing elite genetics, functional cattle, and championship-caliber females. Built on a foundation of integrity, hard work, and a commitment to breed advancement, Worth-Mor has earned recognition as a respected name within the Angus industry.

Each year, Worth-Mor Cattle calves approximately 50 head of purebred Angus cows, carefully selecting for structural soundness, maternal strength, performance, and phenotype. Their breeding program emphasizes balanced cattle that excel in both the show ring and the pasture, combining proven cow families with leading herd sires to create cattle that are both competitive and commercially relevant.

A hallmark of the operation is the annual Eastern Extravaganza Sale, hosted by Worth-Mor Cattle. The sale has grown into a highly anticipated event, drawing breeders and cattle enthusiasts from across the region. Featuring elite females, herd bull prospects, and frozen genetics, the Eastern Extravaganza showcases the program’s very best while fostering strong relationships within the cattle community.

In 2025, Worth-Mor Cattle reached a significant milestone when they were awarded one of the most prestigious awards in North America Supreme Champion Female at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair with Worth-Mor Echo 312L, an animal that is born and raised within their program.  This accomplishment solidified their reputation for producing cattle of exceptional quality and breed character, highlighting the strength of their cow families and breeding philosophy.

With a focused herd size, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement, Worth-Mor Cattle remains committed to advancing the Angus breed while maintaining the values that built the program. Through disciplined selection, customer partnerships, and a vision for the future, Worth-Mor continues to make its mark as a trusted and competitive purebred Angus operation

Please join me in congratulating Worth-Mor Cattle.
