2023 National Beef Sustainability Assessment

  • This event has passed.

The CRSB has launched the data collection phase of the update to the National Beef Sustainability Assessment, planned for release in 2023. One of the key portions of this data collection is primary beef production data from across Canada.

The primary data collected from Canada’s beef producers via an online survey is critical to its success. The CRSB is encouraging beef producers, packers, restaurants, retailers and others across the beef supply chain to participate in the update to ensure a robust data set that accurately reflects the sustainability performance of Canadian beef. This update to the NBSA will complement the suite of 2030 Canadian beef goals launched earlier this year.

We have set an ambitious target of at least 500 survey responses from beef producers between now and January 2022. To help incentivize gathering this data, the first 200 producers to complete the survey will receive a $20 gift card. In addition, thanks to generous donations from CRSB members across the beef value chain and beyond, all who submit a completed survey will also be entered into a grand prize draw ( a tag-reader valued at $1100), as well as seven regional prize packs, to be awarded following the close of the survey in January 2022.

The survey itself is expected to take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete, and is available in both French and English.

DEADLINE: Survey closes January 7, 2022.
